Cathedral Museum of Salzburg

The Salzburg Cathedral Museum is devoted to the art and the culture of one of the oldest Archbishoprics in German-speaking territories. The exhibition rooms in the upper story of the Cathedral, the so-called oratories, are well worth seeing even by themselves. The Cathedral Museum is also the Museum of the Archdiocese and displays valuable sacral works of art from various Salzburg parishes.

Cabinet of Curiosities

The cabinet of curiosities of Salzburg came into being during the second half of the 17th century. It is a collection of natural objects as well as works of art: stuffed animals, fossils, scientific equipment, works of cut rock crystal and ivory, etc. The multifaceted collection appeals to an intuitive experience arousing curiosity and amazement.


Long Gallery of St. Peter"s Abbey

"Long Gallery of St. Peter"s Abbey" is a 70 m long corridor located in the facade to cathedral square. It displays paintings from the rich collections of the abbey. The "Long Gallery" can be visited from the Cabinet of Curiosities of the Cathedral Museum.
