On August 19 - 24, 2007, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) will hold his general assembly in Vienna. This meeting will bring together museums professionals from all over the world to discuss the topic of "Museums and Universal Heritage". The Cathedral Museum will organize the annual meeting of the International Comittee Historic House Museums/Demeures Historiques (DemHist). |

Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach (* Graz 1656, + Wien 1723) is the most famous Austrian architect of the baroque era and is of interest also on a European level. During his apprenticeship in Rome, he established far reaching, artistic contacts. He travelled to and received commands in Prague, Brno, Wroclaw, Berlin and Vienna. By his buildings in Salzburg, he shaped the baroque image of the city. |
